About Rechargeables Inc.

Why work with Rechargeables?

Over the last decade, Jeremy Day has sold over $60 million worth of solar energy equipment, including more than 200MW of inverters. He knows what it feels like to earn #1 market share in Canada and that “staying on top is the hardest part.” His professional network stretches across Canada and the globe.

“What makes me different here in Canada, is that I have >10 years of experience in selling equipment into every province and territory, having the opportunity to meet hundreds of industry stakeholders face-to-face. I still keep in touch with the companies that I think are doing the best job in our field, especially with those that excel in workmanship and product experience.”

Since launching Rechargeables in 2018, the company has grown from its roots in Wholesale Distribution to providing talented EPC and Project Management services to residential, commercial, municipal and Utility (LDC) clients. The company is poised to help large corporations design their portfolios, purchase the equipment and outsource local construction talent, no matter where the sites are located.

New home construction is a specialty for us; a natural fit with our attention to detail and communication skills, involving coordination with architects, home builders, the township and utility, engineers and most importantly, the homeowner.

Rechargeables has also helped two municipalities with its Engineering Consulting & Project Management services – the Region of Waterloo and City of Kitchener. We helped them establish a budget and apply for electric vehicle charging station funding from NRCan, as well as continue next steps, toward final completion and commissioning.

One of our 2020 highlights was Rechargeables’ success in building out a portfolio of 11 projects for London Hydro, our #1 Utility Client in 2020. The portfolio includes eight sites owned by London Middlesex Community Housing, plus one system at Clarke Road Secondary School and two systems at London Hydro’s headquarters. 6 of the 11 systems include Battery Energy Storage Systems, while 5 were grid-tied solar PV projects without batteries.

No matter what type of customer you are, we will provide the best mix of our product and service offering. You can count on Rechargeables meeting the highest standards for design, components and quality workmanship.

“I take an artistic approach to it. The systems we sell should be complementing the house and the family who lives there. The same goes for businesses and their employees.”

Meet the Founder

Jeremy Day knows every aspect of the Solar Energy industry. Energy Storage Systems and Electric Vehicle Charging projects are a natural progression toward consuming renewable energy 24/7. With over 10 years of experience, he’s made his way up the supply chain, working in energy retail, distribution and manufacturing. Most notably, Jeremy spent five years as the National Sales Manager at Fronius Canada, one of the top 10 inverter manufacturers worldwide, before focusing on selling industrial energy storage systems. After years of finding success in sales, Jeremy decided to take a leap of faith.

“I really wanted to be fully independent and make a real contribution in growing the local market – to be a real entrepreneur and true leader” he said. And so Jeremy started Rechargeables Inc., a company dedicated to understanding the market and building a sustainable future.

But solar wasn’t always Jeremy’s chosen career path. At 16, he left home to pursue a different dream. He was determined to be a professional hockey player, in fact, a goalie since the age of 5.

After three years in the OHL, he won two pre-season NHL games with the Atlanta Thrashers, before an injury forced him to switch gears. Jeremy chose Brock University to finish his hockey career, as a Varsity athlete. Off the ice, he focused his competitive spirit on business leadership, involving himself in various charitable fundraising efforts and business plan competitions. Jeremy Day graduated with an Honours BBA from Brock University in 2007, in the field of entrepreneurship. He was deemed the graduating student with the best overall combination of academic and entrepreneurial performance, called “The Sonja Bata Award for Entrepreneurship.” Following his university career, he turned his attention to the pursuit of sustainable energy and has since been developing his expertise in the area for 10+ years.

His passion for creating a sustainable future led him to become the Chair of the Board, at PNUC Renewable Energy Co-operative, a not-for-profit that focuses on raising awareness and building new sustainable energy projects.

He is very proud to have founded Rechargeables Inc. in 2018 and is excited for a significant year of growth in 2021!

“I made sure to get involved with solar energy because I need to be passionate about what I do and what I’m selling. For me, solar will always support the three pillars of sustainability – economic, social and environmental.”
