In 2018, the Canadian Energy Regulator released the Economics of Solar Power in Canada report, which studied the financial viability of typical solar power projects across Canada.
“Currently, commercial solar breakevens are less than commercial electricity prices in most places in […] Ontario. This means that businesses in those communities could expect to save money by installing commercial solar,” the report said.
These maps show the breakeven point for commercial solar compared to typical hydro costs.
